Tepig is a fire type Pokemon, and one of the three new starter Pokemon (along with Snivy and Oshawatt) for the Nintendo DS game, Pokemon Black & White. In the anime, after a brief appearance in the first episode of Black & White, it makes its first main appearance in the fourth episode, when Ash befriends a Tepig released by its trainer. The Tepig eventually allows Ash to capture it.
KEY FACTS: Tepig is one of the three Starter Pokemon in Pokemon Black & White for the Nintendo DS, available from Professor Juniper.

History
Tepig is a Fire Type Pokemon which makes its console debut in Pokemon Black & White. It is a starter Pokemon in the Unovo region, available from Professor Juniper in Kanoko Town.
Evolutions
Tepig evolves into Pignite at Level 17
Pignite evolves into Emboar at Level 36
Abilities
Blaze - When Tepig has less than a third of its hit points, Fire atacks deal 1.5 times damage.

Some of the moves learned by Tepig:
Level 1 - Tackle - Normal Type - Power 50 Accuracy 100%
Level 15 - Nitro Charge - Fire Type - Power 50 Accuracy 100% - can also raise the user's Speed stat.
Level 33 - Flamethrower - Fire Type - Power 95 Accuracy 100% - can also burn the target
Level 43 - Flare Blitz - Fire Type - Power 120 Accuracy 100% - user receives recoil damage, can also burn the target

Tepig in the Trading Card Game
Tepig has now been seen four times in the Japanese Trading Card Game, most notably in the Black Collection.
In the English-Language TCG Tepig was first seen as one of the tin cards in the Black & White Sneak Peek Tins. It makes its first regular appearance in the first Black & White booster pack.
