Geomag: One of My Favourite Construction Toys

I always have loved Geomag. It's deceptively simple. On the surface there's not much too it - a handful of different components. Its beauty though is this simplicity. From this small collection of parts, Geomag can be constructed into a mamoth range of impressive creations. In our experience, adults and children alike can spend a great many hours creating a wealth of interesting shapes and objects with Geomag.

On this lens, you'll find loads of Geomag information. There's photos and videos to help get the creative juices flowing, guides on places to buy Geomag and a host of links to more Geomag resources.

If you love Geomag, don't forget to vote in our regular fan polls and say 'hello' on our Guestbook below. Enjoy...

A Brief History of Geomag

Geomag is a construction toy, originally launched in 1998, consisting of mickel plated steel balls, and short connecting sticks (known as rods) with magnets in each end. From these seemingly simple pieces, endless wonderful geometric contructions can be created - see some of the pictures and videos below to get the idea.

The increasing popularity of Geomag saw it named Toy Industry Association Toy of The Year in 2005. By that stage, Geomag had become a popular 'executive toy' and was seeing use in serious mathematical and scientific presentations .

In 2009, Geomag was relaunched after a short absence from the marketplace, this time comprising three main ranges: GBaby, Geomag Kids and Geomag Pro. Initial reports indicate that it is set to be every bit as big a hit as first time around.
