Vanguard (or CFV for short) is a trading card game, produced by Japanese TCG specialists Bushiroad, based on the anime of the same name. In Japan, Cardfight!! Basic Gameplay in Cardfight!! Vanguard
To start, each player selects a Grade 0 unit from their deck, placing it face down as their first Vanguard. They then shuffle their deck and draw 5 cards. Either player can then declare a 'Mulligan' if they don't like their hand - if they do so, they can shuffle thier hand back into their deck and draw five new cards - tihs hand MUST then be kept.
First player is then decided randomly, with the player going first being unable to attack in the first round. The goal is to inflict 6 damage points to your opponent (represented by cards in the damage zone). Each players turn proceeds through the Stand Phase, Draw Phase, Main Phase and Battle Phase. We'll bring you a fuller guide to gameplay very soon.
